Pepijn van de Ven, PhD, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität, Germany
Pepijn is a senior research fellow in the department of Electronic & Computer Engineering at the University of Limerick, Ireland, working in the wide area of eHealth, with a special interest in mobile applications and sensors. He has worked on a range of national and European projects in the area, including FP6 Caalyx, FP7 ICT4Depression and FP7 ECOMPARED (lead researcher for UL team), Enterprise Ireland Flexor (PI), and Enterprise Ireland MoSaIC (PI). Before taking up research in the University of Limerick in 2002, Pepijn worked as a research scientist at the Philips Research Laboratories in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, on radio frequency front-ends for 3G mobile phones. Pepijn holds a PhD (2005) from the University of Limerick entitled “Identification and Control of Marine Vehicles Using Artificial Intelligence Techniques”, and an MSc degree in Electrical Engineering from the Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands.
